Image Production Pipeline

A tested GLCO path from a reviewed generated source to versioned AVIF and WebP files with dimensions and useful text alternatives.

Image production workbench with camera, metal source object, color card, proofs, and laptop thumbnails.

The GLCO image build keeps each selected source in the repository and creates smaller AVIF and WebP files for the browser. The process is repeatable and separate from the creative review.

Three source images were selected

Codex built-in image generation created an owner-operator scene, an image workbench, and a measured code test bench. GLCO checked each output for composition, brand fit, impossible detail, and visible text.

Processing is deterministic

The image script reads each selected PNG and creates 640, 768, 960, and 1440 pixel versions. It writes both AVIF and WebP. It never enlarges a smaller source.

The current set produces 18 public files. A source change produces the same file names, sizes, and formats on the next build.

The browser gets a real choice

The responsive picture component lists AVIF first and WebP second. It also provides intrinsic width and height. The browser picks a file based on format support and viewport size.

Review stays outside the conversion script

The script can resize and encode an image. It cannot decide whether a hand looks wrong, a machine is unsafe, or a scene makes a false business claim. A person approves the source before it enters the build list.

What was tested

  • Source files remain under versioned names.
  • All expected AVIF and WebP files are written.
  • The homepage and content pages use known dimensions.
  • Generated images contain no required technical labels.
  • Social images are produced from article metadata with exact HTML text kept outside the raster hero.

AI created the source scenes and assisted with the build code. GLCO selected the sources, inspected the output, and wrote the publish rules.
